EBU STRATEGY PROPOSAL

The EBU has been putting forward its proposals for the future for a year or so and during that time your committee has pondered and commented on those proposals – as have many others.  The end result being the proposals as they stand at the moment which are in the following document.

Over that period of time I have made a few announcements about them and the outline of them has appeared in the EBU magazine and on their website.  Members have made comments and asked questions and I have included those in my submissions to the EBU.

All the members that commented said that they were happy for myself and the committee to deal with the proposals.

On your behalf I have agreed with some of the proposals and objected vociferously about others and, fortunately, the changes in the proposals have tended to follow our objections.

The current proposals are not due to come into effect until April 2010 and I am sure that there will be further adjustments to them – although the EBU consider them final.

If you can be bothered to read the 28 page proposal and have any questions I shall be happy to discuss them with you.
